2025: A Year in Review

Written by Alex Mitchell, Terracon Legal CFO

With another year beginning, there is an opportunity to pause and reflect on the last 12 months.

It may seem irregular for a legal practice article to be written by an accountant rather than a lawyer (albeit one who likes to think their legal advice is sound), but it feels important to acknowledge the work my colleagues do every day.

2025 was a year of growth and opportunity for Terracon. We were able to capitalise on several market opportunities, expanding both our reach and the quality of service we offer. Highlights included:

- The addition of renowned and respected commercial and property expert Ben Grady to our team.

- The opening of our South Coast office in Batemans Bay, with experienced local Trudie Seymour, introducing the region to the Terracon level of difference.

Of course, a year in review would not be complete without some tangible numbers (a definite dopamine release for me). In 2025, we helped more than 1,500 people and businesses across Conveyancing, Leasing, Commercial matters, and complex estate work.

These numbers are a point of pride for the Terracon team. They represent the people we have been able to help and the difference we have made, whether supporting a first home purchase, negotiating a lease to help someone pursue their passion, or simply providing a listening and understanding ear to give families peace of mind that their wishes are protected.

This is why we do what we do every day: providing efficient, effective, and innovative legal solutions to help people.

While I could talk all day about the complex and highly skilled Property, Commercial, and Estates work our team completes, one of the most rewarding aspects of our business is our commitment to supporting causes that matter.

Over the past 12 months, Terracon supported more than 20 charities and community groups, highlighted by our Terralympics event, which raised $62,000 for children and families in need.

This is something Terracon loves to do: support causes that matter to our friends, clients, and the broader community.

I am incredibly proud of what the Terracon team achieved in 2025, capped off by the promotion of three talented and deserving team members to Associate. These promotions reinforce Terracon’s position as a market leader in complex matters and reflect the depth of expertise within our firm.

So, what will 2026 bring for Terracon?

More of what our clients have come to expect: meaningful, expert legal solutions, paired with a continued focus on improving how we work and how we support one another internally.
